What
is the laser optical video transmitter?
A laser optical video transmitter is a device that transmits video
data using modulated laser light in a fashion similar to fiber optic
communications. This allows ultra-high speed and high quality DVD
resolution wireless transmission at full wire-line data rates. In
addition, the laser beam makes it the most secure means of wireless
communication.
Is the laser safe?
Air@-EL300 is rated as a Class 2 laser. The laser light that is
transmitted is considered safe even if viewed with the naked eye at
the point of transmission. The laser beam spreads out by the time it
reaches the receiving side, making it even safer there than it is on
the transmitting side. However, it is not recommended to use
magnifying optics such as binoculars at the point of output, as the
effect on the eyes would be amplified. We also caution not to stare
at the laser light directly when the device is on.
Does not
Air@-EL300 affect the elevator safety?
No, it does not affect the elevator safety at all because it does
not produce any electromagnetic waves.
It is even safer because it eliminates Coaxial cable and has no
influence on Power cable and Traveling cable.
What
kind of certificate does
Air@-EL300 obtain?
For standard on electronic and laser products, we have already
obtained CE, FCC, IEC-60825-1:2007(2nd Edition) and FDA's CDRH for
Laser Safety. Especially,
Air@-EL300 complies with FDA performance
standards 1040.10 for laser products.
What happens if dust accumulates on the receiver lens?
Wavelength of the laser light passes through the dust in some
degree, and it will not affect the video transmission. In reality, a
piece of soft tissue paper on the receiver lens doesn't affect the
image transmission quality. According to our domestic experience for
6 years, dirt had no influence on the video quality at all. However,
it can be affected if the particles of dust are thick or if greasy.
Therefore, it is recommended to clean the lens during the safety
inspection or every 2~3 year. Use a camera lens cleaning brush and
do not touch the receiver or the transmitter body.
Does
Air@-EL300
work well in high-rise buildings even though the diameter
of the laser light is small?
No problem. When you aligned a receiver to transmitter, you can see
the red circle on the receiver which was beamed from transmitter.
This circle's diameter will be increased when the transmitter move
back from receiver. So in case of long distance, signal reception
area is getting bigger. That's why our product works well even in
high-rise buildings. To watch it in reality, please see the
installation video clip on our website.
Is the performance of the system affected by the weather
condition?
Weather conditions can also affect an optical beam. Rain, fog or
snow reduces visibility, scattering and attenuating the amount of
laser light that passes between the transmitter and the receiver.
However, under normal conditions, these conditions should not occur
within an elevator hoist way.
Is this a laser system working through window glass?
Air@-EL300 can be installed indoors through window as long as the
receiver and the transmitter are located with a direct line of
sight. The laser should pass through clear glass, but before
applying, we recommend a field test before this application.
What happens if something such as a bird comes across the laser
path between the transmitter and the receiver?
If something comes across the path of the laser, the transmission
can be interrupted for a very short time. However, under normal
conditions, these conditions should not occur within an elevator
hoist way.
